Penetration testing: attack to defend better

A penetration test simulates a hacker's attack, with your written consent, to discover and prove exploitable weaknesses before a real attacker uses them. It is the most concrete way to check that your defenses hold.

Types of tests we perform

Test typeWhat is testedExample of risk revealed
ExternalWhat is visible from the Internet: site, servers, exposed servicesForgotten service open to everyone
InternalThe network from the inside (compromised machine, visitor)Lateral movement to the file server
Web applicationSite and apps: authentication, inputs, sessions (OWASP Top 10 reference)Injection, broken access control

A written framework before any action

Our process

  1. 1

    Scoping

    Goals, perimeter, rules of engagement.

  2. 2

    Reconnaissance

Mapping what an attacker can see.

  3. 3

    Exploitation

    Controlled access attempts, with evidence.

  4. 4

    Report

    Proven weaknesses, severity, recommended fixes.

  5. 5

    Retest

    Verification that fixes work.

What the report contains

  • An executive summary the management can understand.
  • Each weakness with its proof, severity and business impact.
  • Precise fixes, ranked by priority.
  • A retest to confirm the fix.

Not sure what you need? Our guide audit or pentest helps you choose. For a broader approach, start with a security audit.

Frequently asked questions

Is penetration testing legal?

Yes, as long as it is carried out with the system owner's written authorisation and within a defined perimeter. That is precisely what separates ethical hacking from an attack.

Is there a risk of breaking something?

The risk is controlled: dangerous actions are excluded or scheduled outside business hours, and you have an emergency contact throughout the test.

How often should you run a pentest?

At least once a year and after every major change (new application, migration, opening of remote access).
